Meet the Founder
Lisa Fernandez is the Founder of Saffron & Scale™, a strategic advisory practice helping food brands and retailers grow through better category strategy, pricing, and product decisions.
Her work focuses on how product, pricing, and shelf come together to drive performance—what sells, why it sells, and how to scale it.
Lisa has spent her career leading and shaping food categories across North America and internationally, with deep experience in assortment strategy, pricing architecture, supplier strategy, and commercialization. She understands how upstream decisions translate directly to shelf performance—and ultimately, to what ends up in the consumer’s basket.
Before founding Saffron & Scale™, she held senior roles in category strategy and product innovation, working with retailers and brands to build, fix, and scale categories—from launching new products to restructuring assortments and pricing strategies.
She began her career as an engineer and Six Sigma leader, building a foundation in analytics, problem solving, and execution that continues to define her approach.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering, an MBA in Strategic Management, and a Chef Training Certificate—bringing together technical, commercial, and culinary perspectives.
She’s known for being direct, practical, and focused on what actually moves the needle.
